- Program Director: HNTB, served as Program Director for an annual $12M general planning contract with MARTA, requiring indirect management of 20+ team members across four major expansion projects, resulting in positive revenue growth.
- Atlanta Streetcar Launch: At TRA, served as Operations Project Manager for the launch of a $100M federally funded TIGER grant Streetcar service in the City of Atlanta, which launched on time and on budget.
- Clayton County Inaugural Bus System: At MARTA, served as the Project Manager for the creation, development, and implementation of Clayton County's inaugural bus system in 2001, MARTA's first contract for service under MARTA Act Section 24A.
- Atlanta Streetcar Transition: At HNTB, successfully led the transition of Atlanta Streetcar from City of Atlanta management to MARTA management, impacting all departments and ensuring compliance with FTA regulations without service interruption.
- Paratransit Organizational Assessment: At TRA, served as Project Manager on an organizational assessment of MARTA's paratransit service, establishing baselines, identifying gaps, and developing corrective action plans.
Operations Planning & Service Delivery
- MARTA Director of Mobility (Paratransit) Services: Served in this capacity during two critical periods in the history of MARTA Mobility. 1) During the period of transition from in-house operation to private operation. I led this transition which resulted in no adverse impact on the customer as a private provider assumed the operation. 2) During the COVID-19 pandemic. I led the service at the commencement of the nationwide shutdown until a measure of normalcy returned. The result was no reduction in the coverage area and the implementation of health safety measures protecting both employees and customers.
- President Carter’s State Funeral: At MARTA, served as Project Dovetail agency lead, developing a 60-hour bus and rail service plan and functioning as the "on the ground" liaison for the Carter Center, US Military, Secret Service, and Homeland Security.
- MARTA Rail Shutdown: At MARTA, developed a bus shuttle operations plan for MARTA’s 6-week shutdown of heavy rail service from College Park Station to Airport Station, receiving high marks from customers.
- 1996 Summer Olympic Games: At MARTA, provided financial analysis and service design support for the team that created the operational framework for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games Spectator Transportation System.
- MARTA Expansion Program: At MARTA, served as Operations Division Project Lead for MARTA’s transformative expansion program, leading the development of concept of operations and activation plans.
Financial Management, Contracts & Business Development
- New Contract Development: At Transdev, developed new privately operated transit service contracts in Georgia, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, totaling over $232M in revenue.
- Contract Retention: At Transdev, existing service contracts totaling over $238M in revenue, stabilizing revenue for the geographic area.
- Innovative Funding Scheme: At Transdev, led the development of a unique funding scheme using the FTA’s Capital Cost of Contracting model, saving local taxpayers $2.5M annually as the private firm financed design and construction.
- Paratransit Outsourcing Study: At TRA, led an outsourcing study for MARTA’s Paratransit Service, including creating cost models, writing the RFP, developing the evaluation plan, and leading the internal agency transition.
- Streetcar Financial Forecasting: At TRA, created financial forecasting scenarios for streetcar systems in Cincinnati and Atlanta, leading to stakeholder support for outsourcing.
Leadership, Team Management & Mentorship
- Large-Scale Team Management: At MARTA managed a 50+ team of technical trainers, transit schedulers, and operations planners to deliver quality work for MARTA’s bus, rail, and streetcar service.
- Direct Team Management & Growth: At HNTB, directly managed a team of eleven professionals, responsible for hiring, career development, and performance evaluations, growing the team by 125% in one year.
- Workforce Management Program: At MARTA, created and implemented a workforce management program impacting over 2,500 employees, which resulted from a study on Bus Operator Absenteeism and led to reduced absenteeism.
- ERG & Mentorship Leadership: At MARTA, conceived and served as Executive Mentor for MARTA's first Young Professionals ERG and Executive Champion for its first Pride ERG.
- Workforce Inclusion: At MARTA, started an internship program for Neurodiverse professionals. One participant was hired into a full-time technical position.
- Professional Mentorship: At HNTB, served as a professional mentor for three young professionals, one of whom served as Office Quality Manager.
Strategic Planning, Quality & Policy
- Office Quality Manager: At HNTB, served for 18 months as Office Quality Manager, managing quality management system (QMS) compliance across 30+ projects to corporate standards. Experienced a decrease in rework.
- Root Cause & Gap Analysis: At MARTA, conceived and led a study examining the root causes of Bus Operator absenteeism. The resulting 12 gap closure recommendations were unanimously adopted by the C Suite.
- Standardized Workflow Plan: At HNTB, developed and implemented a workflow plan to centralize all project efforts under one standardized guideline, ensuring quality consistency. This resulted in an increase in on-time delivery of work products.
- 20-Year Master Facilities Plan: At HNTB, developed a 20-year Master Facilities Plan examining growth scenarios and the need for new facilities, including high-level cost forecasts.
- SOP Standardization: At MARTA, led the creation of a standardized policy requiring periodic review of over three hundred standard operating procedures, reducing corrective action findings issued by FTA and GDOT.
- Asset Management: At MARTA, provided technical support for an asset management plan covering 53K+ assets, including drafting an FTA grant application that led to MARTA becoming the first US transit agency to receive ISO 55001 certification.
- Short-Range Transit Plan: As Independent Consultant, served as Project Lead and primary developer of Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority's Short Range Transit Plan, which became the blueprint for a new terminal and a BRT route.
